A New Dawn

On 1st November 2019, the Royal Montrose Golf Club and Montrose Mercantile Golf Club merged to become the Royal Montrose Mercantile Golf Club.

Originally known as The Montrose Golf Club, our clubhouse dates from 1898.

The Club offers a range of membership options including Ordinary (golfing), Associate (non-golfing), Young Adult, Student, Country and International membership.

Our Gents, Ladies, Senior and Junior Sections enjoy an extensive range of golfing events throughout the year, including Inter-Club matches.

We extend a warm welcome to golfers visiting Montrose Golf Links.

Members' Guests

Members are welcome to sign up to three guests into the clubhouse at any one time. An individual guest may be signed in up to six times a year and no more than twice in any given month.

We ask that members, guests and visitors observe our ‘smart but casual’ dress code. Tailored shorts and smart demin jeans are acceptable.

Dining Room and Bar Facilities

The Club’s Dining Room and Bar facilities are open to members, their guests and visiting golfers throughout the year.

Non-golfing visitors are welcome to enjoy a meal in the dining room (pre-booking required).

Room hire is available for private functions such as birthday parties, weddings, funeral teas and charity events. We can provide two or three course meals, hot and cold buffets and antipasti platters.

Opening Hours

The clubhouse is normally open from 6:30am (April - October) and from 7.00am (November - March).

*Closing time during the winter months is determined by the number of people in the Club. *

Toilet facilities, locker rooms and the tea/coffee machine can be accessed from 6.30am/7.00am. The Dining Room and Bar are normally open from 9.00am and 10:00am respectively.

Golfers playing after lunchtime, who plan to dine in the clubhouse at the end of their round, are advised to book/check with the kitchen staff prior to teeing off.

Should you wish to dine in the clubhouse outside normal catering hours, please contact the office to discuss. We will always do our best to accommodate your request.
